The SpeedSand is the world’s first sanding disc applicator, which is design to hold up to 6 discs and perfectly align your hook and loop sand paper every time. In testing these out they worked very well, the whole package of sanding discs went right on the applicator and it was lined up perfect each time a new disc went on. To be honest up until this point I haven’t ever thought it was difficult to put on a hook and loop pad however they are not always perfectly aligned and I’m also not burning through sand paper packs at a time either.

The SpeedSand applicators are each $9.99 and come in 3 sizes: 5” - 8 hole hook & loop, 5” - 6 hole hook & loop and 6” - 6 hole hook & loop. You can order the SpeedSand directly from their website and visit Ohio Power Tool for all your other sand paper and sanding tools. See the video below to see how simple this product is to use.

A friend of ours is in the business of sourcing wood and it definitely seems like an interesting job. Some of their wood comes from old barns in and around Ohio and gets repurposed into floors, furniture, raw stock, beams, whatever. A visit to a local Mexican restaurant, currently under construction, which is using a lot of their raw stock wood really gave us a good idea how unique some of their product is. If you have any projects coming up and you’re looking for say 16” wide floor planks or antique looking wood stock, get a hold of Tom at Old West Woods he’ll fix you up. It can also be a very environmentally friendly way to use real wood that's a good quality. If you want to see more pictures and projects you can also checkout their Facebook page, which some of you may have already done because they have 2,900+ fans.

The 2010 IWF Show was last week in Atlanta, Ga and while we could not make the show we of course were waiting patiently for news of new products, reviews and videos to be available. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed; typically the woodworking crowd is pretty internet savvy when it comes to blogging, videos and updates. Even with the show reduction in size and several vendors pulling out all together we thought there would be a little more coverage. The good news is our buddy Chris Marshall with Woodworker’s Journal was on hand with a camera crew and got many of the highlights, which were up almost instantly.
