If you are looking for an alternative to wall mounting your flat panel TV, the asymmetric design of the Hollywood and Dolce Vita stands from Cattelan Italia are one stylish (but expensive) option.

The Hollywood unit can accommodate flat-panel LCD or Plasma televisions up to 42" wide while the Dolce Vita handles smaller sets up to 32". Both are vertically adjustable, so you can achieve the height that is most suitable for viewing. In addition to the glass shelving, the Hollywood also features a stainless steel CD storage unit mounted behind the television.

I'll admit that I like the clean contemporary look, but spending $1468 and $1573 respectively for the Dolce Vita and Hollywood is a lot of money to drop on a TV stand. There are, of course, cheaper options for achieving a clean look without wall mounting—like the Synchro Furniture Mate for $599. [Cattelan Italia via Trendir]

I love these little pieces of art called Green Pockets. Artist Maruja Fuentes designed these ingenious interlocking wall planters to be hung in multiples and filled by your own creativity. Fuentes studied environmental design in Puerto Rico, architecture in Washington, D.C., and furniture and textile design in Savannah. Her well-rounded experience and obvious natural [...]

Why Tetris? Inspired by the once popular Soviet video game, this type of furniture has a number of important advantages: It is functional, I’d say “multi-functional”: you can use it for many purposes; It is space-saving (as any assembled furniture is); It is playful: you can re-design your apartment again and again; It looks fresh and appealing. Tetris Shelves: Blocks [...]

I have heard tales of mistaken identity before, but this case takes the cake...and apparently everything else in the property. In a major foreclosure faux pas, a realty company had the condo of a woman cleaned out, mistaking her property for the real foreclosed property next door. The homeowner is now in a battle with the Realty company to either get all of her stuff back or be compensated. And since the company isn't coming back with her belongings (furniture, clothing, dish ...
